DEPARTMENT OF PHYSICS

The Department of Physics at Christ Nagar College started functioning in 2015. Since then, the department has shown its excellence in almost all fields of education. The department offers Career-Related Dual Core Program in Physics and Computer Applications and subsidiary programs under the Choice Based Credit and Semester System (CBCSS) of University of Kerala. The program aims to instill a passion for science in students and forge proactive partnerships with various organizations to contribute to society. The department has experienced and dedicated faculties. The department has well-equipped Physics and Computer labs where students can do all the UG experiments as per the university syllabus. The Alumni funded Nanomaterial Research lab starts functioning in 2022 and our students and PG students from other colleges have completed their academic projects using the facilities of this lab. The Physics department offers various add-on courses to introduce students to the current areas beyond the syllabus. Our students bag two to three top university ranks every year and mark high academic excellence. Inter-departmental Collaboration programmes are also conducted to introduce students to new areas beyond their subject of study. Department’s strong placement cell ensures that students are placed in top IT companies every year and the number of students joining higher studies is very high. Regular conducting of conferences, workshops and seminars, Industrial Visits as well as Peer talks give students opportunities to interact with eminent personalities and be aware of recent trends in their area of interest. National Education Policy will be implemented from 2024 onwards. These initiatives ensure the achievement of desired outcomes for our students, preparing them for an evolving professional landscape.
