Activities

Entrepreneurship Development Clubs are set up by the Department of Industries & Commerce, Government of Kerala mainly with the objective of promoting entrepreneurial traits among students in schools and colleges. The Entrepreneurship Development Club started its functioning in Christ Nagar College in 2019 with the objective to inculcate “Entrepreneurial Culture” amongst students and equip them with the skills, techniques and confidence to act as torchbearers of “Enterprise” for the new generation. Since its inception, the club has been organising a number of programmes to create entrepreneurial awareness and skills among the students.

Mission

To create wealth and employment commensurate with the unlimited natural and immense human resource potential of Kerala by developing entrepreneurship in the youth.

Objectives

  1. To inculcate social virtues i.e., trustworthiness, integrity, hard work, discipline, honesty etc. as constituents of entrepreneurship.
  2. To sensitise students on the real economic and industrial development scenario of the state.
  3. To make them aware of the unlimited developmental potential of the State.
  4. To inculcate entrepreneurial culture in students.
  5. To enable them to make informed decisions.
  6. To change the mindset on the negative attitude prevailing in the state for taking up entrepreneurship as a career.
  7. To induct entrepreneurial spirit in the institutions.
  8. To bring in successful entrepreneurs and students on a common platform.
  9. To motivate the members to venture into an industrial activity.
  10. To educate members on various dimensions of the industry.
  11. To nurture the latent entrepreneurial talent.

ED Club Conclave- Enlight 2020
Aryan Nair U.B. of S4 BBA and V. Harikrishnan Nair of S2 BBA exhibited their innovative product ideas of ‘Mini Fridge’ and ‘HABER- Holistic Approach towards Bio-regulating Environment from Renewable resources’ in Enlight 2020, which was an ED Club Conclave conducted by the Department of Industries and Commerce, Government of Kerala on 29th and 30th of January 2020 at the Uday Palace Convention Centre, Kowdiar, Trivandrum.

A workshop on ‘Kerala- A Good Place for Business’ was organized on 17 September 2021. The resource speaker was Mr. C. Balagopal, the founder and former Managing Director of Terumo Penpol Pvt Ltd.

The Entrepreneurship Development Club, the Innovation and Incubation Centre [IIC] and the IQAC in association with the ICT academy of Kerala organized a two-day workshop on entrepreneurship development on 22nd and 23rd March 2022. The Resource persons were Mr Nidhin Das, the Company Secretary, ICT Academy of Kerala and Mr Gopu Darsan, the Knowledge Officer, ICT Academy of Kerala.
