The Committee has been set up to facilitate the smooth and effective conduct of academic activities of the college. It also takes necessary steps to stay updated with the developments in the respective fields and disseminate the same to ensure the quality of teaching. The Committee also coordinates and monitors the conduct of add-on courses offered by various departments of the college.
The Committee predominantly assists the Principal by coordinating with the College office to facilitate the admissions process and to take necessary decisions regarding admission to various programmes offered by the college. The tasks include providing information related to the application procedure in general as well as admissions under various quotas, addressing the queries of the candidates and/or parents regarding interviews, fee payments, issuance of ID cards, etc.
This is an official committee to monitor the conduct of all PG degree programmes offered by the College. Preparation of semester schedules, extension activities, etc will be undertaken by the committee.
The principal objective of the Committee is to maintain discipline on the campus to create an inclusive environment for all students and nurture values that are in accordance with the mission of our College by promoting tolerance and social harmony. The Committee also takes steps to ensure a completely ragging-free environment on the campus along with creating awareness on the dehumanising effect of ragging among the students and to ensure that no act of ragging shall go unnoticed and unpunished.
The Committee is institutionalized primarily to prevent any form of harassment to its women staff and students. The Committee will hear and examine complaints and grievances in relation to incidents of sexual harassment; inquire into the grievance and make recommendations towards the complaints brought in front of it so that such incidents are not repeated. It also conducts various gender sensitization programmes to create an awareness on this matter.
Women’s Grievance Cell was instituted with the objectives of redressing the grievances of the students and the staff, of any sort, related to women as well as taking preventive steps in the matter of gender discrimination and sexual harassment. The knowledge and information about it can lead to a workplace free of sexual harassment for all persons. The Cell will deal with the cases/complaints of sexual harassment and any other type of harassment of the female students, teaching and non-teaching women staff of the college. It shall process all the individual complaints and take immediate suitable action.
The Disability Grievance Committee ensures effective and objective grievance redressal mechanisms for careful and sensitive handling of grievances from differently-abled students. The Committee also gives suggestions and inputs to make the campus more disabled friendly.
SC/ST/OEC Cell has been set up for the redressal of the grievances of the SC/ST/OBC students and staff as per the University order dated 23/03/2021.
The Placement Cell strives to help students in their career progression by helping them to acquire skills needed for employability and organising campus recruitments to secure desired employment. This is realised through building a strong partnership amongst students, alumni, faculty-members and industries. It also assists students to develop and implement successful job search strategies, as well as work with faculty members, department heads and administration to integrate career planning with academic curriculum.
The University/End semester examinations are conducted and supervised by the External Examination Committee. It performs all necessary duties regarding the conduct of the examinations including dissemination of exam timetable, making seating arrangements for students, deputing invigilators, conducting the examinations, and sending the answer booklets to the University. The Internal examinations are conducted and supervised by the Internal exam Committee. It performs all necessary duties regarding the conduct of the examinations including preparation and publication of exam timetable, collection of question papers from course in-charges, making seating arrangements for students, deputing invigilators, conducting the examinations, distributing answer sheets etc Examination Committee also ensures that strict discipline is maintained and no malpractice takes place.
The student welfare committee takes care of the welfare and addresses grievance of the students. The College has an effective and objective multi-tier grievance redressal mechanism that focuses on careful and sensitive handling of student grievances. The type of grievances includes academic and curricular issues, non-academic issues, and general grievances etc. The Committee identify the deserving students eligible for various scholarships offered by the college and government.
Mentoring programme is conducted to help the students to strengthen their varied capabilities and to build an interpersonal relationship between the teachers and students. The Mentoring Committee oversees the smooth functioning of the Mentoring program and ensures that it is practiced as per the guidelines instituted by the College.
The Committee coordinates and facilitates all services offered by the College library. It takes necessary steps to promote the use of the library by the faculty and students, invite book/title recommendations, procure books/titles and learning resources, and provides for proper documentation services and collection.
The Cultural Committee is responsible for keeping the spirits alive on the campus by organizing a multitude of cultural activities round the year to identify, encourage and promote students to perform at various stages facilitated by the institute. It also coordinates and oversees students’ participation in inter-collegiate, University and inter-University level events.
The Energy Conservation & Safety Committee functions to ensure energy conservation, energy efficiency and the use of renewable energy resources in the day-to-day activities of the College. It also initiates and oversees projects and programmes to create awareness on energy efficiency and suggests necessary steps as per the energy audit reports. The Committee also monitors and ensures that safety protocols are being met and coordinates mock drills and training sessions periodically to familiarise emergency evacuation plans.
The Committee ensures the use of all beneficial applications of modern Information and communication technologies to facilitate information dissemination and teaching-learning activities. It also organises various training programmes to keep the staff updated in the use of ICT.
The Canteen Committee monitors, at regular intervals, the quality and quantity of services provided by the canteen and works together with the canteen in charge to improve the services with regard to quality of the food provided, timing of canteen, prices of items sold.
It is the responsibility of the Finance Committee to examine and scrutinize the annual budget of the College and to make recommendations on financial matters; to recommend fixation/revision of fees and other charges payable by the students to the College Governing Council; to consider all proposals for new expenditure and to make recommendations to the Management.
The Purchase Committee is established for independent review and evaluation of proposals and recommends the most appropriate supplier or service provider based on price, quality, stock availability, references etc., subject to the guidelines of the Stores and Purchase Manual of the Government of Kerala/UGC directives.
The Planning Committee is entrusted with the task of reviewing the academic and other related activities of the college such as students and faculty development programmes, visualizing and formulating prospective plans for the development and growth of the college. It formulates a Master Plan for campus development, facilitating implementation of the prospective plan and resource mobilization plans.
