DEPARTMENT of COMMERCE

The department of Commerce began functioning in 2012 by offering BCom Commerce with Computer Application and in 2013 a new programme Bcom Commerce and tax procedure and practice was started . In 2015 the department became a Post Graduate department with the introduction of MCom ( Finance and Accounts )Programmes under Choice Based Credit and Semester System (CBCSS) of Kerala University. The department has been maintainiing high academic standards with excellent pass percentage, A grades and university ranks every academic year. Furthermore we offer various add on courses and value added courses every year to equip students to successfully face global challenges.

The students are given sufficient training to meet the requirements of the software industry. The programme objective is to mould world class computer professionals who possess probity, positive attitude and scientific temper. For this, a sound theoretical knowledge and skill for software development and implementation are provided. The department has developed a unique culture of learning process by suitably mixing seminars of expert resource persons from the industry, study visits to industrial units, personality development programmes and value education activities along with the regular classes. The department has two well equipped computer laboratories with 130 computer systems. Students are also given add-on courses to introduce them to current trends other than what was given in the syllabus. Through our placement cell many of our students are placed in top IT companies every year.
