Competitions

Tech Intellect – National level Intercollegiate IT Quiz Competition

A National level Online IT Quiz competition was organised by the PG Department of Computer Applications on June 26, 2020. The competition had 417 participants from different places all over India. The quiz was opened to 10th, 11th, 12th, UG and PG students.

Thought Evacuate – National White Paper Competition

Department had organised “Thought Evacuate,” a national level white paper competition focussing on the future of Computer Science on July 18,2020. Nearly 70 participants from many states submitted their papers. The panel selected the paper titled “Identification of Offline Handwritten Documents” as the best paper.

Social Outreach Programmes

The Department of Computer Science and Applications and NSS unit in association with IQAC organised the Computer Literacy Drive offering a certificate course on “MS Word and Internet” for the people of Kathipara Village as part of the Village Adoption Programme undertaken by Christ Nagar College. The duration of the course was 6 months and conducted from February to August 2023 at Community Hall, Kathipara, Vellarada, Trivandrum.

The PG Department of Computer Science and Applications in association with IQAC organised the “Computer Literacy Programme” for the people of Maranalloor Panchayath and the non-teaching staff of Christ Nagar College from 14th -21st, December 2021

The Department of Computer Science and Applications and NSS unit in association with IQAC organised the “Computer Literacy Programme” for the people of Kathipara Village as part of the Village Adoption Programme undertaken by Christ Nagar College on 20 August 2022 at Community Hall, Kathipara, Vellarada, Trivandrum.

Visit to Little Flower Convent (Orphanage)
The students of BCA 1st year visited the orphanage on 16th December 2019 as part of social outreach. The students spend the day with the inmates by arranging various games and entertainment programs. They contributed money and gifts for the inmates of the convent.

Visit to Providence Home (Orphanage for mentally disabled)
The students of BCA 1st year visited the providence home at Killy , Kattakkada on 19th June 2018 as part of social outreach. The students spend the day with the inmates by interacting with them and singing their favourite songs. Students contributed gifts and essential commodities for the inmates of the home.

Tour/Industrial Visit

Industrial Visit to Wipro Campus, Infopark, Kochi
Students from the final year BCA visited Wipro Kochi Campus on 31st Oct 2014. They were given an orientation session on IT sector and a campus walk.

Industrial Visit to Kerala Start-Up Mission & Kerala FAB Lab, Technopark, Trivandrum
Students from the final year BCA visited Kerala Start-Up Mission & Kerala FAB Lab (KSUM & FABLAB), Technopark, Trivandrum on 31st October 2014. They were given an orientation on how to start a start-up boot camp in the campus or to own by themself. A class on 3Dprinting features were introduced.
