Christ Nagar College, Maranalloor added an Undergraduate programme in Psychology in the year 2020. Bachelor of Science in Psychology is a career related programme under the Choice Based Credit and Semester system of the University of Kerala. The department has a team of dedicated and highly qualified teachers who strive hard to mould the students as skilled and empathetic professionals. The just begun journey of the department will reach its destination winning laurels all the way. The methodology of teaching has evolved, incorporating modern teaching aids and continuous assessment which keeps students focused and well informed. The course work involves tests, exams, assignments, projects and paper presentations. Bachelor of Science programme is designed with an objective to provide a sound theoretical foundation of the fundamentals of human behavior, get an insight on various forms of maladaptive behavior and therapies used to treat them, to enhance the self-awareness of the students and to enable them to cope with the challenges in their personal and vocational lives and also to pursue research and career opportunities in the field of clinical practice, social work, management and personnel training, counseling, teaching, development of psychometric tests and geriatrics. At the end of the program, students will be able to demonstrate the following competencies
1. Better understanding of the social science and natural science concepts in the functioning of the human mind, body and behaviour
2. The ability to formulate questions in Psychology and to develop hypotheses, analyse data and interpret results.
3. Identify how ethical issues interact with the practice of psychology in professional domains
4. Identify the relationship between psychology and other fields and it’s application across various disciplines.
5. Develop Awareness and understanding of how personal factors influence academic growth
