INDUSTRIAL VISIT (IV)

Industrial Visit to Travancore Cochin Chemicals Students from the final year BBA (2012-15 Batch) visited Travancore Cochin Chemicals, a public sector undertaking owned by the Government of Kerala on 31st Oct 2014. They were given a visit to their manufacturing unit.

Tour to Wayanad Students from the final year BBA (2012-15 Batch) went to Wayanad and Wonderla, Kochi as part of final year tour . 25 Students attended the Tour and 3 Faculties accompanied with them.

Tour to Ooty & Wayanad Students from the final year BBA (2013-16 Batch) went to Ooty, Wayanad and Wonderla, Kochi as part of final year tour . 35 Students attended the Tour and 3 Faculties accompanied with them.

Tour to Coorg & Mysore Students from the final year BBA (2014-17 Batch) went to Coorg, Mysore and Wonderla, Bangalore as part of final year tour. 45 Students attended the Tour and 2 Faculties and a non-teaching staff accompanied with them.

Tour to Coorg, Mysore & Bangalore Students from the final year BBA (2015-18 Batch) went to Coorg, Mysore, Bangalore and Wonderla, Bangalore as part of final year tour. 45 Students attended the Tour and 3 Faculties accompanied with them.

Tour to Malpe, Uduppi, Chikkamagaluru, Belur & Coorg Students from the final year BBA (2016-19 Batch) went to Malpe Beach, Uduppi, Chikkamagaluru, Belur and Coorg as part of final year tour. 36 Students attended the Tour and 3 Faculties accompanied with them.

Tour to Malpe, Dandeli, Uduppi, Coorg & Bangalore Students from the final year BBA (2017-20 Batch) went to Malpe Beach, Dandeli, Coorg, Bangalore and Wonderla Bangalore as part of final year tour from 17 February 2020 to 23 February 2020. 35 Students attended the Tour and 3 Faculties accompanied with them.

Tour to Marayoor & Munnar Students from the final year BBA (2019-22 Batch) went to Marayoor & Munnar as part of final year tour from 3 May 2022 to 6 May 2022. 40 Students attended the Tour and 3 Faculties and a non-teaching staff accompanied with them.

Tour to Chikkamagaluru, Coorg & Wayanad Students from the final year BBA (2020-23 Batch) went to Chikkamagaluru, Coorg & Wayanad as part of final year tour from 16 January 2023 to 20 January 2023. 56 Students attended the Tour and 3 Faculties and a non-teaching staff accompanied with them.

‘Panel Discussion on Union Budget 2023-2024’
The Postgraduate Department of Commerce and the Department of Management Studies in association with the IQAC organised a ‘Panel discussion on Union Budget 2023-2024’ on 14 February 2023 at Chavara Chamber. Prof. Dr Mary George, Former Chairperson, Public Expenditure Review Committee, Govt of Kerala and Dr Shaijumon C S, Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Humanities, Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology, Trivandruem were the resource persons.

‘Career Guidance & Higher Education’
The Department of Management Studies and the IQAC in association with T.I.M.E., Trivandrum organised a programme on ‘Career Guidance & Higher Education’ on 11 August 2022 at 9.00 a.m. at Chavara Chamber. The resource speaker was Mr Rakesh Rajeev, Director, T.I.M.E., Trivandrum.

The Department of Management Studies and the IQAC in association with T.I.M.E., Trivandrum organised a programme on ‘Career Guidance & Higher Education’ on 22 March 2022 at 9.00 a.m. at Chavara Chamber. The resource speaker was Mr Rakesh Rajeev, Director, T.I.M.E., Trivandrum.

‘Group Discussion’ (Soft skill series)
The Department of Management Studies organised a Workshop on ‘Group Discussion’ for the second year BBA students on 21 March 2022 at Board room from 8.30 a.m. to 1.00 p.m. Dr Sonny Jose, Associate Professor and Head, Department of Social Work, Loyola College of Social Science was the resource person

‘Savoir-Faire’ (Soft skill series)
Savoir-Faire, a soft skill development programme was organised by ABATS under the Department of Management Studies in association with the IQAC on 07 March 2022 at Chavara Chamber. Mr Anand R Nair, an eminent trainer in soft skills development and an Assistant Professor and Executive Officer at Conspi Academy of Management Studies was the resource speaker.

‘Guidance to become a Company Secretary’
The PG Department of Commerce, the Department of Management Studies and the IQAC in association with The Institute of Company Secretaries of India, Thiruvananthapuram Chapter organised an online session on the topic, ‘Guidance to become a Company Secretary’ on 11 February 2022 at 4.00 p.m. CS Balamurali S., Former Chairman, ICSI Thiruvananthapuram Chapter and CS S. V. Vimal, Company Secretary, Travancore Titanium Products were the resource speakers.

Opportunities and Career Prospects- CMA US
The International Skill Development Corporation in association with IMA IPL and PG Department of Commerce and Department of Management Studies organised a session on ‘Opportunities and Career Prospects- CMA US’ on 07 December 2021 at 9.00 a.m. Mr Sharath Venugopal, Regional Head Institutional Partnership, Kerala, ISDC was the resource person.

‘Rise by Lifting Others’
An Online Workshop on Social Entrepreneurship, ‘Rise by Lifting Others’ was organised by the Department of Management Studies and the RED Cell in association with MGNCRE on 20 September 2021 from 4.00 p.m. to 5.00 p.m. using the online platform Google meet and YouTube Live. The resource speaker was Ms Lakshmi Menon, a Designer turned Social Entrepreneur, Vanitha Woman of the year 2021 and Governing Council Member in the National Innovation Foundation.

‘Kerala - A good place for business’
A Workshop on ‘Kerala - A good place for business’ was organised by the Department of Management Studies, the ED Club and the IQAC in association with District Industries Centre, Trivandrum on 17 September 2021 from 4.00 p.m. to 5.00 p.m. using the online platform Zoom and YouTube Live. The resource speaker was Mr C. Balagopal, Founder and former Managing Director, Terumo Penpol Pvt Ltd.

National Webinar Series II – ‘Empowering investors through education – Path to secure your financial future’ :
The National Webinar on ‘Empowering investors through education – Path to secure your financial future’ by Mr C. K. Arivazhaghan, an Empanelled Trainer to Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) for students of Christ Nagar College was organised by the Department of Management Studies and IQAC in association with BSE on 07 June 2021 from 4.00 p.m. to 5.00 p.m., using the online platform, Zoom.

National Webinar Series I - ‘Capital Market Awareness’
The National Webinar on ‘Capital Market Awareness’ by Mr C. K. Arivazhaghan, an Empanelled Trainer to Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) for students, research scholars, academicians and management professionals was organised by the Department of Management Studies and IQAC in association with BSE on 24 May 2021 from 4.00 p.m. to 5.00 p.m., using the online platform, Zoom and YouTube.

‘Fintech and the Future of Banking’
The Department of Management Studies organised an International Webinar on ‘Fintech and the Future of Banking’ for students, research scholars, academicians and management professionals on 25 July 2020 using the online platform Zoom from 3.00 p.m. to 4.00 p.m. The resource speaker was Mr Philip G. Hickey, Associate Faculty Member, Dublin Business School, Dublin, Ireland.

‘Marketing in Feedback Economy’
The Department of Management Studies organised a Webinar on ‘Marketing in Feedback Economy’ for students, research scholars, academicians and management professionals on 05 July 2020 using the online platform Zoom and YouTube from 11.00 a.m. to 12.00 p.m. Dr Sanal Kumar Velayudhan, Fellow, IIM Ahamedabad, Retd. Professor, IIM Kozhikode was the resource speaker.

‘Innovate & Invest’
The Department of Management Studies organised a Webinar on ‘Innovate & Invest’ on 27 June 2020 using the online platform Zoom and YouTube from 11.00 a.m. to 12.00 p.m. Dr Biju T., Associate Professor, Department of Commerce, School of Business Management and Legal studies, University of Kerala were the resource person.

‘MBA as a Career Option’
The Department of Management Studies in association with T.I.M.E., Trivandrum organised a Webinar on ‘MBA as a Career Option’ on 25 May 2020 from 12.00 p.m. to 1.30 p.m., using the online platform, GoTo Webinar. The resource speaker was Mr Rakesh Rajeev, Director, T.I.M.E., Trivandrum.

‘Employability Skill Development’
The Department of Management Studies in association with IQAC organised a Seminar on the topic “Employability skill development” on 23 January 2020 from 11.00 a.m. to 1.00 p.m. at the Theatre. Mr Anand R. Nair, Assistant Professor, Conspi Academy of Management Studies was the resource speaker.

‘Stock Market: An Indicator of Indian Economy’
The Department of Management Studies in association with IQAC conducted a Seminar on ‘Stock Market’ on 15 November 2019 from 11.00 a.m. to 1.00 p.m. at the Theatre. Mr T. R. Kishore Kumar, Territory Head of SBI Capital & Securities, Trivandrum was the resource person.

‘Green Banking’
The Department conducted a Seminar on ‘Green Banking’ on 10 October 2019 from 9.00 a.m. to 2.30 p.m. at the Theatre. The resource person was Dr B. Vijayachandran Pillai, Professor, Department of Commerce, University of Calicut.

‘Social Commerce’
Association of Business Acumen and Talent Search (ABATS), Association of Department of Management conducted a One-Day Seminar on ‘Social Commerce’ on 23 October 2018 at 9.00 a.m. The resource person was Ms Ranjana Varghese, Assistant Dean at Xavier Institute of Management and Entrepreneurship.

SOCIAL OUTREACH PROGRAMMES

Visit to Balika Mandiram, Cheruvarakonam, Thiruvananthapuram The students of BBA 3rd year (2020-23 batch) visited the orphanage on 19 November 2022 as part of social outreach. The students spend the day with the inmates by arranging various games and entertainment programs. They collected money and it was used to arrange lunch for the children and staff. Sweets were also distributed after lunch.

Visit to CEE home Karunalayam, Parassala, Thiruvananthapuram The students of BBA 3rd year (2018-21 batch) visited the orphanage on 8th April 2021 as part of social outreach. The students spend the day with the inmates by arranging various games and entertainment programs. They collected money and contributed essential commodities. The money was also used to arrange for lunch which was distributed to the children and staff. Sweets were also distributed after lunch.

Visit Agasthyakudeeram Balikasadanam, Kottoor The students of BBA final year (2017-20 batch) visited the orphanage on 7th March 2020 as part of social outreach. The students interacted with them, played lots of games, girls in the group performed dance for them, played musical chair and at last students played quiz together and so on. Those children dedicated traditional song for us. The students collected money and the lunch of that day was sponsored by the students. The money was also given to them for the studies of the inmates.

Visit to Kripalayam, Old Age Home, Medical College The students of BBA 1st year (2016-19 batch) visited Kripalayam, Medical College on 8th October 2016 as part of social outreach. The students spend the day with the inmates by interacting with them and singing their favourite songs. Students contributed gifts to the inmates of the home.

Competitions

Online International Business Quiz -Biz Bits 2020 The department of Management studies organised an International business Quiz-Biz Bits 2020 from 14 August 2020 to 16 August 2020.There were participants from foreign countries like Canada, Australia and France.E-certificates were issued to the participants who scored more than 50%.
