Library Rules
All students and staff are members of the college library.
Strict silence should be observed within the library.
The library will remain open from 8.30 am. to 4.30 pm. on all working days, with an interval of 30 minutes from 12 to 12.30 pm. On vacations and Saturdays, it is open from 9.30am to 3pm.
Food and personal belongings like textbooks, umbrellas, bags etc. are not allowed inside the library. Users can carry laptops, notebooks, etc. for their study purposes.
College ID Card is mandatory for all the library services.
The number of books issued to a PG student will be 5 books and to an UG student 3 books at a time for which he/she must sign in an issuing register.
General books are issued for a period of two weeks.
Members of the teaching staff may borrow up to ten books at a time and they must return it within one month.
Reference books or any other reference records will not be lent out. The books marked as “REFERENCE” and periodicals (both journals and magazines) are meant only for reading consultation inside READING ROOM ONLY, cannot be taken out.
A book may be re-issued to the same user if there is no demand/reservation.
Members are responsible for books issued against their names.
The Librarian can recall a book at any time even before the due date.
A fine of Rs .1/- for general books will be levied per day if a book is retained beyond the permitted period.
Absence from the Institute will not be considered as an excuse for the delay in returning the books.
Current periodicals will be issued for use in the library.
On no account shall a member spoil or disfigure a book. The borrower of a book must point out to the librarian at the time of borrowing any defects the book may already have. Otherwise, the borrower will be responsible for any damage caused to a book while in his/her custody.
If a book or periodical is lost or damaged, the borrower must replace it with a copy of the same edition or with the latest edition with a bill or can pay the replacement cost of the book within the time fixed by the librarian.
Students must return their “Reader’s Tickets” when leaving the Institute and should obtain “NO DUES CERTIFICATE”.
The library shall not be responsible for any loss or damage to the personal belongings of the users at the property counter.
The Principal of the college reserves the right to suspend membership of any member found misbehaving with the library staff or with any other member.
Use of Library computers
Computers in the library should be used for academic purposes only.
Changing the settings and display of the computers kept in the library is not permitted.
Use of personal laptops inside the library is not permitted.
Readers should not remove/unplug computer cables/connections, network cables and other peripherals/accessories in the library.
Personal keyboard, mouse, etc are not allowed inside the library.
Users must sign in a register before using the computers in the library.
